Repeat Prescriptions

pill_bottleIf the doctor has authorised your medication as a repeat, you will be able to obtain a repeat prescription.  Please organise your requests for repeat prescriptions in good time to allow our staff to deal with them efficiently.

Please be aware that as from 8 March 2017 all repeat prescription requests will take 3 working days (72 hours) to process. This is due to the current increase in patient demand and pressure of NHS work that we face.

Please be aware that unless it is deemed medically urgent by a clinician we will not be able to issue any prescriptions before the 72 hours.

You may request this:

  • In person, over the reception counter by handing in the right hand side of your last repeat prescription or a hand-written or typed repeat prescription request
  • You may post your repeat prescription request to the surgery (if you include a stamped, self-addressed envelope your repeat prescription will be posted back to you).
  • Order online.  You need to contact the surgery to register for this service then follow this link Online Prescriptions

Newly registered patients must see the doctor or practice nurse for authorisation of repeat prescriptions.

To avoid the possibility of any errors, requests for repeat prescriptions cannot be taken over the telephone.

Medication Reviews

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip. Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
